Ex-Red Bull boss Horner Reportedly Reaching Out to Various Formula 1 Team Principals
Former Red Bull team principal Christian Horner is reportedly "getting in touch with most team bosses" as he seeks a return to F1, per Aston Martin top executive Andy Cowell.
The Silverstone-based squad is included in the squads that are connected to the former chief.
Cowell revealed he had checked the situation with team owner Lawrence Stroll this past Friday at the Singapore Grand Prix.
"It appears that Christian is ringing up pretty much every team owner at the moment," commented the CEO.
"I can clearly say there are no intentions for the engagement of Christian in an leadership or investment capacity in the future."
Other Teams React
The American team team principal Ayao Komatsu stated that the ex-chief had "contacted" the Stateside organization but noted: "Things haven't advanced. It's over."
Alpine top official Steve Nielsen revealed the team's executive adviser and unofficial chief Flavio Briatore was "longtime companions" with the ex-boss.
Nielsen commented: "I'm unaware what they converse about. What I understand is there are no intentions for Christian to join Alpine but this doesn't imply it might not transpire."
The Grove-based squad chief James Vowles declared that Horner had not contacted them.
"We're content with the setup we have and it's functioning," Vowles said. "I don't see any reason to alter this."
Background Context
The former team principal is able to come back grand prix racing by the middle of next year after completing a severance package with his former team on the 22nd of September.
The fifty-one-year-old was let go as Red Bull team principal after the Silverstone race in the month of July.
Multiple sources at the racing team have indicated the agreement deal was estimated at €60 million (£52 million).
