A Pair of Suspects Charged with Prison Murder of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins
A pair of suspects stand accused of murder in the wake of the death in prison of ex-Lostprophets frontman and adjudicated child sex criminal Ian Watkins.
The two men, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) now face murder accusations and are set to face Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to law enforcement officials.
Watkins, 48 years old, was serving a 29-year sentence at HMP Wakefield, with a further six years to be served on licence, after confessing to numerous sex crimes including the attempted rape of a baby.
Watkins was apprehended subsequent to a drugs warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a large number of computers, mobile phones and storage devices were seized.
